Science Day Celebration Open Day 2024

NIT Calicut Open House for High School & Higher Secondary Children Exploring the World of STEM. National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) is happy to announce an upcoming event, "NITC Open House for School Children," designed to inspire and enlighten young minds in Kozhikode district.

This event will provide a unique opportunity for High School (HS) and Higher Secondary School (HSS) students to experience the world of higher education and technological innovation first hand.

Event Objectives


The primary objectives of the NITC Open House for School Children are the following

  • To expose school students to the world of engineering and technology.
  • To foster a passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects.
  • To demystify the concept of higher education at premier institutions like NIT Calicut.
  • To bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications.
  • To promote the exchange of ideas and experiences among students from different schools.

  • Date: 28th February 2024
  • Time: 10 AM to 5 PM
  • Venue: National Institute of Technology Calicut


Participant Eligibility:

All schools in Kozhikode district are invited to participate in the event. The event is open to 25 students from Higher Secondary School (HSS) and 25 students from High School (HS) sections, totalling a maximum of 50 students per school.

Event Highlights


Interactive Workshops:

NIT Calicut faculty members and students will conduct engaging workshops, demonstrate exciting experiments, projects, and innovative technologies in various STEM fields.

Campus Tour:

Students will have the opportunity to explore the NIT Calicut campus, including state-of-the-art laboratories, libraries, and other facilities.

Career Guidance:

A dedicated session will provide insight into career options, admission procedures, and the importance of STEM education.

Question & Answer Sessions:

Opportunities for students to ask questions about NIT Calicut, higher education, and career paths.

Event Registration:

Interested schools should register their participation by 25th February 2024 using the online registration form available in this website. There is no registration fee. Due to limited slots, registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
